A TRIBUTE TO ROY ORBISON AND THE COMPLETE BEATLES

When Roy Orbison died in 1988, it was left to others to bring his music to the stage. Just imagine it’s 30th September 1987 and Roy Orbison is in the Coconut Grove Nightclub in Los Angeles recording the sensational Black and White Night. Relive this golden evening as Barry Steele transports you back to one of Roy Orbison’s greatest performances.

Barry Steele, who portrays The Big O, has toured extensively. He performed as The Big O to rave reviews in “Rockin’ on Heavens Door”, before leaving to concentrate on his own show. Described by The Stage newspaper as “Brilliant” and the Wanaque Chronicle in New Zealand stated “Barry Steele has a range to match the master.” It was during the tour of New Zealand that it became evident that the chemistry between The Big O’s music and The Complete Beatles was electric.

The Complete Beatles are one of the UK’s Premier tributes to The Fab Four, and have toured in their own show and perform regularly with Gerry and the Pacemakers. Both Barry and The Complete Beatles will be delivering the classics from both The Fab Four and The Big “O” just like in 1963 when both these legends actually toured the UK together. During this tour Roy Orbison and The Beatles forged life long friendships which lasted right through to the creation of The Travelling Wilburys, whose music also features in this production.

This is a concert that is unique - this is “The concert they did give”
