The Civic Hall is a multi-purpose entertainment centre providing facilities for a wide range of activities. It boasts a Gallery, Meeting Rooms, Bistro, Coffee Bar and a Small Hall in addition to its multi-purpose 763 seat hall.
Opened on the 29th September
1973 by the late Bryan Walters, Clerk to the Bedworth Urban District Council
it was an ambitious project for a small local authority but one of which the
local people have been fully supportive.
It now plays host to a diverse range of activities including concerts by international
artistes and orchestras. The world famous tenor Pavarotti actual sang at the
Hall when recording an album with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
The Orchestra enjoyed the acoustics so much they recorded 2 more albums at
the Civic Hall before the Symphony Hall, Birmingham was built. The venue still
plays host to concerts by this superb orchestra.
Top TV and radio stars such as Ken Dodd, Jethro, The Band of the Royal Marines, Stephan Grappelli, Morecambe and Wise, Norman Wisdom, Jimmy Tarbuck and Cilla Black have appeared at the venue attracting full houses.
Recently
we have started to produce our own professional pantomime running alongside
the ever-popular amateur productions. With a large number of local dancing
school presentations, charity events and professional touring shows such as
That'll be the Day and Rockin' on Heaven's Door the venue is constantly busy,
and competes well with larger venues in nearby cities.
An important part of the business is the catering and The Civic hall boasts an excellent reputation for high quality food, whether it's a wedding, conference, or family get-together. The Bistro and the Coffee Bar operate daily (except Sunday) and boast a superb menu offering 3 course meals or snacks.
Whenever you get the opportunity
to visit the area pop into the Civic Hall and enjoy a meal and perhaps take
in a show, the welcome is always friendly and warm.
